Line Cook Position

We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Line Cook to join our culinary team at the Sheraton Suites Columbus/Worthington. If you take pride in consistency, quality, and teamwork in a fast-paced kitchen environment, we want to meet you.

Position Summary

The Line Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking menu items according to brand standards and recipes while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe kitchen. This role plays a key part in delivering exceptional food quality and supporting overall guest satisfaction.

What You'll Do

Food Preparation & Execution

  • Prepare and cook menu items following standardized recipes and plating guidelines
  • Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner during service periods
  • Maintain consistency, portion control, and presentation standards
  • Assist with breakfast, lunch, dinner, banquets, or special events as needed

Kitchen Operations

  • Maintain a clean, organized workstation throughout shift
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation standards (ServSafe guidelines preferred)
  • Properly label, date, and store food items
  • Assist with inventory control and minimizing food waste

Team Collaboration

  • Communicate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house team members
  • Support fellow associates during high-volume service
  • Uphold a respectful and professional work environment

What We're Looking For

  • 1+ year of culinary or restaurant kitchen experience preferred
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs
  • Team-focused attitude and strong work ethic

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

  • Work is performed indoors in a commercial kitchen environment.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods and move throughout the kitchen and restaurant.
  • Frequent use of kitchen tools and equipment, including ovens, stovetops, and knives.
  • Must be able to lift and move items up to 25 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
  • Requires bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching.
