What You'll Do as a Lighting Craftsman

  • Restore and build high-quality custom lighting fixtures by hand using traditional metalworking techniques, precision craftsmanship, and brass and copper fabrication.
  • Solder and braze metal components to create strong, clean, and professionally finished assemblies.
  • Build custom wall lanterns, post lights, pendants, and other fixtures from patterns, drawings, and specifications while preserving period-accurate designs.
  • Apply patinas, lacquers, and specialty finishes that enhance the beauty and durability of every handcrafted fixture.
  • Wire and assemble completed lighting fixtures to ensure safe, reliable electrical performance.
  • Complete custom orders with careful attention to customer specifications, quality standards, and production schedules.
  • Maintain an organized, safe, and efficient workspace while properly caring for shop tools and equipment.

  • Attention to Detail: You enjoy precision work and understand that the small details make a big difference in the finished product.
