U.S. Water is a fast paced and rapidly expanding company headquartered in New Port Richey, Florida with a staff of over 950 employees in twenty states.Position Details:The Lift Station Mechanic / Maintenance Technician is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of wastewater lift stations, pumps, motors, piping, valves, and related mechanical and electrical equipment. This position helps ensure lift stations and associated utility systems operate safely, reliably, and efficiently.The ideal candidate will have hands-on mechanical experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to perform preventive and corrective maintenance in a field environment.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair wastewater lift stations and related equipment.Perform preventive maintenance on pumps, motors, floats, valves, piping, and other mechanical components.Diagnose equipment malfunctions and identify the cause of mechanical or operational problems.Assist with the installation, removal, replacement, and repair of pumps, motors, piping, and associated equipment.Monitor lift station operations and identify potential equipment failures, leaks, blockages, or abnormal conditions.Perform routine inspections, cleaning, lubrication, and other scheduled maintenance activities.Assist with electrical and control-system troubleshooting within the employee's training and qualifications.Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, inspection reports, and equipment logs.Operate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment safely and effectively.Follow all company safety procedures, including applicable confined-space, lockout/tagout, and personal protective equipment requirements.Maintain a clean and organized work area, service vehicle, and equipment.Respond to emergency maintenance calls and assist with after-hours repairs as needed.Communicate equipment issues, repair needs, and operational concerns to management.Perform other related duties as assigned.Qualifications:High school diploma or GED preferred.Previous experience in mechanical maintenance, pump repair, wastewater utilities, lift station maintenance, or a related field preferred.Basic knowledge of pumps, motors, piping, valves, and mechanical systems.Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.Ability to troubleshoot mechanical problems and follow technical instructions.Basic electrical and control-system knowledge is a plus.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong attention to detail, dependability, and commitment to workplace safety.Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required.Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work in confined or restricted areas when properly trained and authorized.Ability to lift and carry tools, equipment, and materials weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.Ability to work around wastewater, unpleasant odors, wet conditions, and potentially hazardous environments while following established safety procedures.Ability to respond to emergencies and work occasional overtime, weekends, or on-call shifts as required.Preferred Qualifications:Previous experience maintaining wastewater lift stations or pump stations.Experience with submersible pumps, grinder pumps, motors, floats, and control panels.Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and work-order systems.Knowledge of confined-space procedures and lockout/tagout practices.Experience with water or wastewater treatment facilities, collection systems, or utility infrastructure.Compensation & Benefits:U.S. Water Services Corporation / USW Utility Group offers a comprehensive benefits package that may include:Medical insuranceDental insuranceVision insuranceLife insuranceShort-term and long-term disabilityPaid time offHoliday pay401(k) with company matchPay is commensurate with experience and market-reflective.Compensation and Benefits: Pay is commensurate with experience and market-reflective.
