We are seeking an Elementary Special Education Teacher (Life Skills) to provide individualized instruction and support for students with significant disabilities. This teacher will play a critical role in helping students make meaningful progress toward their academic, communication, behavioral, social, and functional goals.

As an Elementary Special Education Teacher (Life Skills), you will provide specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities through individualized programming designed to help students develop academic, communication, behavioral, social, and independent living skills.
Responsibilities include:
• Develop and implement instruction aligned to student IEP goals
• Create a structured, supportive, and engaging classroom environment
• Adapt curriculum, materials, and instructional strategies to meet individual student needs
• Collect, monitor, and maintain accurate student progress data
• Implement accommodations, modifications, and behavior supports as outlined in student IEPs
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals, related service providers, general education teachers, and families
• Participate in ARD meetings and contribute to the development and implementation of IEPs
• Support students in developing independence, communication, self-regulation, and daily living skills
• Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local special education requirements
• Participate actively in coaching, planning, and professional development
• Contribute positively to the culture and mission of the school
Successful candidates will demonstrate:

• Strong organization and documentation skills
• The ability to collaborate effectively with families, paraprofessionals, related service providers, and general education teachers

• Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability
• A commitment to helping students make meaningful progress
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
• Valid Texas Special Education certification
• Ability to pass a criminal background check
• Eligibility to work in the United States
• Experience serving students with significant cognitive, developmental, behavioral, or communication needs
• Experience implementing IEP goals and collecting progress-monitoring data
• Experience collaborating with related service providers and families
• Experience in a Life Skills, Functional Academics, Structured Learning, or self-contained special education setting
