    Life Safety/Low Voltage Lead Tech


    CamNet Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and self-motivated lead tech to serve as the on-site authority for life safety and low-voltage system installations. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with leadership, coordination, and quality oversight, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to CamNet’s high standards.


    Key Responsibilities:

    On-Time Delivery & Quality:

    • Complete installations and service work on schedule with minimal rework or punch list items.
    • Ensure full compliance with NFPA, NEC, AHJ, and local codes.
    • Install systems including fire alarm, access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, nurse call, intercoms, and other low-voltage/life-safety systems.

    Technical Mastery:

    • Deep understanding of low-voltage/life-safety systems, including panel programming, device installation, and CamNet standardized wiring best practices.
    • Install and troubleshoot networked systems and IP-based devices.
    • Resolve complex technical issues independently without escalation.

    Leadership & Team Management:

    • Serve as the go-to authority on the job site.
    • Ensure productive workflows.
    • Maintain accurate documentation and as-built drawings.

    Communication & Coordination:

    • Interface effectively with end-user clients, general contractors, electrical contractors, AHJs, project managers, and office staff.
    • Lead or participate in project meetings, inspections, and on-site coordination.

    Safety & Compliance:

    • Enforce company safety policies, including PPE, ladder safety, and lockout/tagout procedures.
    • Maintain clean, safe, and code-compliant work environments.
    • Document inspections, permits, and testing accurately.

    Quality Control & Documentation:

    • Conduct device testing, commissioning, and final system verification.
    • Ensure all work meets CamNet standards and client expectations.

    Qualifications / Requirements:

    • Proven experience as a Low-Voltage / Life-Safety Technician/Installer
    • BICSI Certification preferred
    • Construction cabling experience preferred
    • Strong work ethic, punctuality, and professionalism
    • Ability to lift heavy objects and work safely in construction and occupied environments
    • Reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license
    • Willingness to travel within the state as required
    • Pass a security/criminal background check
