POSITION PURPOSE:
Advocate
for quality Resident Care, assisting Resident in initiating & maintaining
quality activity of interest, assuring timely & accurate documentation of
above. Provides and initiates
appropriate interventions to maximize the residents psychological, social and
ADL functioning. Assist in observing and
reporting changes in resident’s condition.

misappropriation of resident property.

- Attendance & Tardiness: Consistently reports to work as scheduled and properly notifies supervisor when unable to do so.

to dress code as prescribed by supervisor and SSL standards.

sake of the residents.

Safety &
Sanitation
- Remains alert at all times, assuring that SSL
and its residents are safe and secure at all times.
- Actively participates in the SSL Safety Program
by direct service on the Safety Committee, or by observing and reporting unsafe
conditions to supervisor and by performing all assigned duties with proper body
mechanics.
- Attends In-Service sessions as required by organization
and supervisor.
- Remains task oriented while on the job, with no
allowance for horseplay or otherwise distracting oneself or others from the
important task(s) of caring for residents.
Primary Job Duties
- Informs, invites, and escorts residents as
necessary to groups, activities or appointments of their choice.
- Welcomes new admissions, provides information on
Resident Council, calendar, upcoming events.
- Delivers packages, gifts and newspapers to
residents in various areas of the building.
- Meets weekly or as scheduled with Life
Enrichment Department staff to coordinate accountabilities of the department.
- Makes suggestions to the Life Enrichment
Director for possible group & individual activities to be presented.
- Assists in presenting activities as scheduled on
the Activities Calendar.
- Offers 1:1 interventions for Residents who are
unable/unwilling to participate in group presentations.
- Creates an atmosphere of excitement &
anticipation through Special Events programming.
- Provides “Active Listening” for
Residents/Families directed at problem identification & solution. Provides for behavior/adjustment
interventions as indicated.
- Prioritizes day-to-day workload completion.
- Performs other duties as required.
