Description

Position Title: Licensing Engineer, Fuel

Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting direct hire Fuel Licensing Engineering opportunity.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop the preparation, submission, renewal, and tracking of licenses, permits, registrations, and other regulatory filings.
  • Monitor applicable federal, state, and local regulations affecting fuel operations and identify compliance obligations.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to gather documentation, support audits, and maintain accurate records.
  • Serve as a point of contact for regulatory agencies, inspectors, and licensing authorities.
  • Maintain calendars, deadlines, and status updates for all licensing and regulatory activities.
  • Review operational processes and documentation to help ensure ongoing compliance with applicable requirements.
  • Support the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and controls related to licensing and regulatory compliance.
  • Assist with responding to inquiries, notices, and requests for information from regulatory bodies.
  • Partner with legal, operations, finance, safety, and other teams to resolve licensing and regulatory issues.
  • Help identify opportunities to improve efficiency, standardization, and accuracy in compliance workflows.


Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, compliance, legal studies, public administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 0-5 years of experience in licensing, regulatory affairs, compliance, permitting, or a related operational function.
  • Working knowledge of regulatory processes, documentation requirements, and recordkeeping best practices.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy, consistency, and follow-through.
  • Ability to analyze requirements, interpret guidance, and apply procedures effectively.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar tools, and comfort working with document tracking systems or databases.


Preferred Job Qualifications: 

  • Experience supporting licensing or compliance activities in the fuel, energy, transportation, logistics, or highly regulated industry.
  • Familiarity with permit management, audit support, and regulatory reporting.
  • Experience building or improving compliance processes and internal controls.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a preferred.

  • Salary Range: $95K-$140K
  • Location: Washington D.C. (Onsite).
  • Due to government contract requirements, this position is restricted to U.S. Citizens, Permanent Residential or GC Holder only.
