    Job Description

    Your Impact as a Credentialed Cardiology Veterinary Technician

    Note: The Credentialed Veterinary Technician title is used in various states based on state-specific licensing and credentialing requirements. Responsibilities may vary depending on the hospital and/or state and will be outlined by the state's Veterinary Practice Act and/or the responsible veterinarian, where applicable.

    • Perform Specialized Cardiac Diagnostics: You'll perform and assist with specialized diagnostics including ECGs, Holter monitor set-up and data collection, blood pressure measurement, and other advanced cardiac imaging.
    • Ensure Precise Drug Calculation and Administration: You'll accurately calculate, prepare, and administer cardiac medications, sedatives, and emergency drugs.
    • Perform Phlebotomy and Sample Collection: You'll perform venipuncture, place IV catheters, collect samples for laboratory analysis, and take radiographs.
    • Provide Compassionate Care: You'll provide compassionate patient care and ensure patient comfort, all while maintaining a clean and organized facility.
    • Create a Positive Client Experience: You'll discharge patients, review treatment plans and follow-up care with clients, and assist with client service operations such as answering phones and scheduling appointments.
    • Drive Operational Excellence and Mentorship: You'll accurately maintain medical records, prescriptions, and controlled drug logs using our computer systems, and help train and mentor veterinary assistants and new teammates.
    • Support Anesthesia and Patient Monitoring (in select locations): You'll induce, maintain, and monitor patients under sedation and anesthesia, continuously assessing vital parameters in often medically fragile cardiac patients and escalating concerns to the cardiologist promptly.

    What You'll Bring to the Team

    • Graduate of an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technician program.
    • A current state veterinary technician license in good standing.
    • Experience in cardiology, internal medicine, or a specialty/referral environment is a plus.
    • A calm and efficient approach, especially in fast-paced or stressful situations.
    • Strong communication skills and a passion for working collaboratively.
    • The physical capability to lift and carry animals up to 40 lbs, with comfort in prolonged standing, bending, kneeling, and physical activity.
    • The ability to travel to secondary locations as required.
