Employment: Full-Time Assignment
Pay Rate: $55.00 per hour Travel Rate

We are currently in URGENT need of a Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) for a full-time assignment at a correctional facility located in Soledad, California.
This is an excellent opportunity for an LPT seeking consistent hours, competitive pay, and experience within California's correctional healthcare system.
The Licensed Psychiatric Technician will provide behavioral, psychiatric, and general nursing care to patients within a correctional healthcare setting.
Working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), Medical Doctor (MD), or designated facility leadership, the LPT will provide services within the scope of their California Psychiatric Technician license and in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
• Provide general behavioral and psychiatric nursing care to patients with mental health and/or developmental needs.
• Conduct clinical rounds and monitor patients exhibiting signs and symptoms of mental illness.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments within the scope of LPT licensure and under appropriate clinical supervision.
• Administer injections and perform other authorized psychiatric nursing procedures.
• Obtain, monitor, and document vital signs, including temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and respiration.
• Observe patients' physical condition, mental status, and behavior and promptly report significant changes to appropriate clinical staff.
• Participate as a member of the interdisciplinary Treatment Team and assist in developing treatment plans, goals, and objectives based on patient assessments.
• Assist with the development and implementation of individual and group therapy programs.
• Facilitate or participate in therapeutic group activities as appropriate.
• Collaborate with nursing, medical, mental health, and custody personnel to support the safe and effective management of patients.
• Coordinate clinical appointments and assist in ensuring patients are available for scheduled healthcare services.
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide CPR and first aid when necessary.
• Complete clinical documentation accurately and in accordance with requirements, facility policies, and applicable professional standards.
• Help maintain a safe, secure, professional, and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
Required:
• Current and active California Psychiatric Technician (LPT) license
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Ability to practice within the scope of a California Licensed Psychiatric Technician
• Ability to successfully complete all required credentialing, background clearance, health screening, and facility onboarding requirements
• Strong clinical documentation and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively with an interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Ability to work professionally within a correctional healthcare environment
Correctional healthcare and/or behavioral health experience is preferred but not required.
Pay Rate: $55.00 per hour
Full-time assignment with consistent hours.
