Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Licensed Professional Counselor to provide comprehensive mental health and substance use counseling services to individuals . This position involves conducting assessments, providing therapy, and collaborating with our multidisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based, trauma-informed care.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Services
- Conduct comprehensive biopsychsocial assessments
- Conduct Columbia Suicide Severity Rating Scale (CSSRS) initial assessments and follow-up evaluations
- Develop and update individualized treatment plans
- Provide individual therapy using evidence-based approaches including CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing, and trauma-informed interventions
- Facilitate therapeutic groups including process groups, psychoeducational sessions, and skills-based interventions
- Provide crisis intervention and mental health emergency services as needed
Treatment Coordination
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, medical staff, and other clinical team members in treatment planning
- Coordinate mental health services with substance use treatment interventions
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case consultations
- Provide clinical consultation on complex mental health presentations
- Support transitions between levels of care and aftercare planning
Documentation & Compliance
- Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation in electronic health record (EHR) system
- Document assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries the same day services are provided
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, state regulations, and professional counseling ethical standards
- Participate in clinical audits and quality assurance activities
Professional Development
- Participate in clinical supervision and professional development activities
- Attend training sessions, workshops, and continuing education programs
- Contribute to program evaluation and quality improvement initiatives
- Stay current on evidence-based practices for mental health and substance use disorders
Qualifications
Required:
- Master's degree in Counseling, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, or related field
- Current, unrestricted Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) license
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in mental health counseling, behavioral health, or substance use treatment
- Knowledge of evidence-based practices for mental health disorders and co-occurring conditions
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and crisis intervention principles
- Proficiency in electronic health records and clinical documentation systems
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Must pass comprehensive criminal background check per state regulations
Preferred:
- Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) certification
- Experience with ASAM Level 2.1, 2.5, or intensive outpatient programs
- Background in treating co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders
- Bilingual capabilities (English/Spanish)
- Training in specific evidence-based therapies (EMDR, DBT, cognitive processing therapy)
- Experience working with diverse populations and marginalized communities
Working Conditions

- Some flexibility for client scheduling needs and occasional evening hours for training
- Private offices for individual therapy and group therapy rooms available
