Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
Current LPN licensure with the Georgia Board of Nursing.
Education Required:
Graduate of an accredited program of practical nursing.
Experience Required:
Two years clinical experience
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meeting and workshops, shows responsibility for own professional practice and ongoing education.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Must be able to stand/walk 10-12 hours per day. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift, push, and/or move 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds with/without assistance. (Patient weights may range from less than 90 pounds to 400+ pounds). Frequently to constantly carries items with one or both hands. Frequently pushes/pulls carts (with wheels) up to 50 pounds, over tile and carpet. Occasionally uses step stool to reach supplies. Frequently stoops and bends. Frequently reaches at arms’ length. Must have good corrected vision and hearing. Must be able to read, write, and make various mathematical calculations. Frequent hand twisting when opening bottles/bags, turning knobs, positioning patients, performing procedures, etc. Must have physical strength and mobility to assist, lift, maneuver patients without injury to patient, sell, or other health care workers and respond to medical emergencies such as performing CPR to include chest compressions if needed.
