Job Summary

Tryfacta is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support one of our public-sector healthcare clients providing school health services throughout the Greater Tampa area.

This position supports multiple school locations withinHillsborough County. Nurses may be assigned to one primary site or provide coverage at nearby locations based on operational needs.

Position Title: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Job Type: Contract

Duration: 10 Months (Possible Extension)

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday | Day Shift (Approximately 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM)

Assignments are based on operational needs, and flexibility to provide coverage at nearby locations is preferred.


Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide nursing care to students with acute and chronic health conditions using the nursing process in accordance with the Florida Nurse Practice Act.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and physician-ordered procedures following district policies and nursing standards.
  • Perform delegated nursing activities within the scope of practice.
  • Provide first aid, emergency care, CPR, and appropriate interventions for student and staff illnesses or injuries.
  • Monitor students with ongoing medical conditions and follow up as appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate health documentation and nursing records.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents/guardians, healthcare providers, school administrators, and district personnel.
  • Participate in health screenings, health education, and preventive health initiatives.
  • Maintain compliance with state licensure and required certifications.
  • Attend required orientation, training sessions, and professional development activities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Active Florida Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) License or Multistate Compact License.
  • Current BLS or CPR Certification.
  • Ability to work independently in a school health setting.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience in any of the following settings is preferred:

  • School Nursing
  • Pediatrics
  • Pediatric Home Health
  • Pediatric Outpatient Clinic
  • Pediatric Primary Care
  • Acute Care Pediatrics
  • Family Practice
  • Urgent Care
  • Community Health

Candidates without school nursing experience but with strong pediatric clinical experience are encouraged to apply.
