Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Skilled Nursing & Long-Term Care - The Cedars, Portland, ME

Pay: From $29.00 per hour + generous shift differentials (based on experience)

Schedule: Full-Time, Part-Time & Per Diem

Bonus: $5,000 sign-on bonus (full-time hires)

Shifts: 12-hour Day and Overnight shifts

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care in a long-term care / skilled nursing facility (SNF)
  • Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
  • Monitor, assess, and report changes in resident condition
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation (EMR)
  • Collaborate with RNs, CNAs, physicians, and interdisciplinary care teams
  • Support care plan implementation and resident-directed care goals, including geriatric nursing care
  • Ensure compliance with Maine Nurse Practice Act, federal regulations, and facility policies
  • Promote a safe, respectful, and home-like environment for residents

Qualifications

  • Current State of Maine LPN license (required)
  • Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
  • 1+ years of experience preferred in long-term care, skilled nursing, or acute care
  • New LPN graduates welcome; structured onboarding and support provided
  • Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and medication administration skills
  • Commitment to high-quality geriatric nursing and senior care
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and documentation skills
