JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Director of Health Services, the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) works under the day-to-day supervision of the building Registered Nurse (RN), in collaboration with other members of the healthcare and educational team to provide appropriate healthcare services to each scholar under the direct supervision of the registered nurse and the building principal.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, run, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk, hear (in a quiet or noisy environment) including auscultation using a stethoscope. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust/focus. The employee must be able to bend, push and/or pull loads, such as pushing children in wheelchairs or moving/rearranging furniture or assisting scholars with standing, transferring and walking. The employee must physically restrain scholars, when required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud to moderate. Work is performed indoors although there will be required outdoor activities. The employee is directly responsible for the safety, well-being and work output of scholars.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to compare, analyze, communicate both orally and in writing, copy, coordinate, instruct, compute, synthesize, evaluate, use interpersonal skills, compile and negotiate.
