Job Description:Licensed Practical Nurse - Float (LPN)$5,000 Sign-On Bonus for New Hires!*Location: Manhattan, NY (Central Park, Kips Bay, Upper East Side, Yorkville, Washington Heights)Hours: 4/10 hour days, Mon, Wed-Fri 7:30a-6p (RDO Tuesday)
Organization: New York Cancer & Blood Specialists (NYCBS)In This Role, You Will:- Update and maintain the electronic medical record with up to date vital signs, patient demographics, medication reconciliation, allergies and medical diagnoses
- Manage Physician inbox messages and prioritize tasks assigned via the electronic medical record
- Assist in maintaining the medical inventory; place orders for new materials and stock rooms to ensure adequate supplies for physician staff
- Clean and prepare examination rooms prior to patient appointments
- Escort patients to exam rooms
- Provide patient education concerning medications, management of diseases, home treatments, and special diets
- Assist physician with exams and/or procedures
- Prepare and administer Injections
- Phlebotomy and collection of other lab specimens
- Perform point of care lab testing
- Perform EKGs
- Administer and document medication under a physician's order and follows the five (5) medication rights and reduce the potential for medical error
- Must be willing and able to float throughout our Manhattan locations
We Require:- Current NYS LPN license required
- At least 1 year of LPN experience preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required
- Spanish-speaking preferred
- Consistent professional conduct and meticulous attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills with patients, staff, and other health care professionals
- Experience with EMR's
- Reliable transportation to any of NYCBS location for patient care needs
