Flexible Schedule Required | 1st Shift Preferred
Alpha Rae Personnel is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide nursing and direct patient care within the scope of practice and under the direction of an authorized healthcare professional.
Schedule Requirements
- 1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- Must be flexible to work 2nd Shift: 1:30 PM – 9:30 PM
- Must be available to work any day of the week, including weekends and holidays
- Schedule, shift, and days may change based on facility needs
- Must be available to start and have no upcoming scheduling conflicts, including vacations, appointments, or school
- Must arrive on time and be on the floor and ready to work at the scheduled start time
What You'll Do
- Provide nursing care within the scope of LPN practice and under the direction of an RN or other authorized healthcare professional
- Administer medications and treatments, including oxygen, injections, wound care, catheter care, and other nursing procedures as directed
- Maintain medication accountability records and medication stock
- Monitor, document, and report patient conditions, treatment responses, medication reactions, behavior, and progress
- Take vital signs and provide assistance with grooming, hygiene, bathing, and activities of daily living
- Reposition patients and respond to patient alarms
- Escort patients and assist with recreational and group activities according to treatment plans
- Provide work direction, orientation, and training to lower-level direct-care staff
- Participate in staff conferences, committees, interdisciplinary team meetings, in-service training, and nursing meetings
- Order medications, medical supplies, and maintain nursing equipment and supplies
- Clean, sterilize, and restock the medication cart and medication area
- Perform clerical duties, including answering phones and filing
Requirements & Qualifications
- Current, valid Ohio Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license required
- Current BLS/CPR certification required
- Knowledge of skilled licensed practical nursing procedures and pharmacology
- Knowledge of patient care, first aid, CPR, HIPAA regulations and standards, and general healthcare practices and procedures
- Ability to safely operate medical equipment used in patient care
- Strong ability to recognize unusual or threatening conditions and take appropriate emergency action
- Ability to understand and follow nursing manuals, treatment instructions, and verbal directions
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to establish good rapport with patients and residents
- Ability to administer medications and perform medical treatments within scope of practice
- Ability to demonstrate the dexterity and physical strength necessary to perform nursing duties, including moving, repositioning, or restraining patients when required
- Ability to maintain accurate patient, medication, and treatment records
- Ability to provide direction, orientation, and training to lower-level direct care staff
- Flexibility to work assigned shifts, including weekends and holidays, based on facility needs
