Licensed Plumber - Memphis and Oxford MS
Purpose:
The Licensed Plumber is responsible for independently managing the installation, repair, maintenance, and inspection of plumbing systems, including water, gas, and drainage lines. Work must adhere to applicable building codes and project specifications. This role also includes providing on-site direction and training to apprentice plumbers with minimal oversight.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead plumbing projects, coordinate work crews, and provide mentorship to apprentices
Install, diagnose, and maintain plumbing systems while ensuring compliance with all safety and code standards
Identify potential safety issues and take corrective action to maintain a safe job site
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project plans; follow direction from supervisors and contractors
Prepare and complete required quality assurance documentation
Utilize sound decision-making skills to resolve on-site challenges without compromising quality or timelines
Qualifications:
At least 4 years of practical plumbing experience
Active residential or journeyman plumbing license (Shelby County, TN) from a recognized State Licensing Board
Valid drivers license in good standing
Strong accuracy, organization, and attention to detail
Collaborative attitude with the ability to work effectively as part of a team
Must successfully complete a DOT physical and pass a pre-employment drug test
Core Physical Requirements
Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry heavy objects, typically up to 50-75 lbs independently
Mobility and Agility: Capacity to perform physically demanding tasks such as climbing ladders, crawling into tight spaces (like crawlspaces or attics), and kneeling or crouching for extended periods
Manual Dexterity: Strong hand-eye coordination and the ability to handle small tools and components with precision
Stamina: Ability to stand and walk for the duration of an 8-12 hour shift, often in varying weather conditions or non-climate-controlled environments
