Work Schedule: 7 Days On / 7 Days Off
Weekday Shift: Wednesday–Tuesday, 8:30 PM–7:00 AM
Weekend Shift: 6:30 PM–4:00 AM
Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Pharmacy Floor Technician to support prescription fulfillment operations during the overnight shift. The Pharmacy Floor Technician will be responsible for accurately picking, labeling, scanning, packaging, and preparing medications for final verification by a pharmacist.
This is a fast-paced pharmacy environment where accuracy, efficiency, and attention to detail are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Pick and prepare medications from designated shelving and storage areas.
- Fill daily medication orders accurately and efficiently under pharmacist supervision.
- Apply labels to blister cards and scan completed products for accuracy.
- Prepare finished prescriptions for final pharmacist verification.
- Prepack frequently ordered medications, including labeling and proper storage.
- Manually package medications, materials, and products according to established procedures.
- Process returned medications and properly recycle or dispose of products in accordance with procedures.
- Immediately notify the pharmacist of medications or products that do not scan correctly.
- Maintain designated workstations and replenish vials, labels, packaging materials, and other supplies as needed.
- Follow all applicable federal, state, and company regulations, including HIPAA requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow departmental policies regarding safety, attendance, and dress code.
- Perform additional pharmacy duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Active and clear Illinois Pharmacy Technician License issued by the Illinois Board of Pharmacy.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous pharmacy technician experience.
- Experience in prescription fulfillment, mail-order pharmacy, long-term care pharmacy, or a production pharmacy environment.
- Familiarity with medication packaging, labeling, scanning, and inventory processes.
Schedule Requirements
This position follows a 7 days on / 7 days off schedule.
- Weekday/Overnight: 8:30 PM–7:00 AM
- Weekend: 6:30 PM–4:00 AM
- Weekend and holiday coverage is part of the scheduled rotation.
- Overtime may be required based on business needs.
