Faithworks Total Ground Maintenance, LLC is seeking a part-time Licensed Pesticide and Field Quality Specialist to lead our lawn and ornamental pesticide program and help improve the quality of our government and commercial grounds-maintenance work.
This is a hands-on field position for an experienced, licensed professional who can perform and supervise pesticide and herbicide applications, train field employees, inspect active job sites, document deficiencies, and help crews correct recurring quality issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform and supervise lawful lawn and ornamental pesticide and herbicide applications.
- Train approved employees on product labels, application methods, PPE, equipment use, spill response, and recordkeeping.
- Select appropriate products and application rates in accordance with labels, contracts, and site conditions.
- Calibrate and inspect backpacks and powered spray equipment.
- Maintain pesticide application logs, chemical inventory, labels, SDS records, training records, and license documentation.
- Inspect government and commercial properties for mowing, edging, trimming, weed control, overhang, litter, blowing, scalping, turf damage, and incomplete work.
- Photograph and document deficiencies, communicate corrective actions, and verify completion.
- Coach crew leaders and field employees on quality standards and proper turf and ornamental care.
- Assist with site visits, scope reviews, and technical reviews of bid requirements.
- Provide a concise weekly pesticide compliance and field-quality report.
Required Qualifications
- Active Florida FDACS pesticide applicator credential authorizing commercial Lawn and Ornamental or Ornamental and Turf applications and supervision. A copy of the current license must be provided for verification.
- At least three years of professional pesticide, turf, landscape, golf course, parks, cemetery, municipal grounds, or related experience.
- Strong knowledge of Florida turf, weeds, ornamentals, pesticide labels, application safety, and recordkeeping.
- Valid Florida driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Ability to travel to Faithworks job sites in Apopka, Mount Dora, Lake County, Orange County, and occasionally Palatka.
- Ability to work outdoors, walk large properties, lift and carry application equipment, and use a mobile device for photographs and reports.
- Professional communication skills and the ability to train and coach field employees.
Schedule and Pay
This is a part-time W-2 position with approximately 16 guaranteed hours per week and the possibility of additional hours based on workload and contract needs. The typical schedule will be two field days per week, coordinated around pesticide-application and property-inspection needs.
Pay ranges from $30 to $36 per hour based on license type, experience, and qualifications. Faithworks provides required uniforms, PPE, approved job-related training, and support for required continuing education and license renewal.
