The Arc Columbia-Saratoga, formerly Coarc (Columbia County Arc), is seeking a Licensed Occupational Therapist Consultant to provide consultation services within our Preschool Program. In this consultant role, you will support young children in developing fine motor, sensory, self-help, and developmental skills needed to participate successfully in educational and daily activities.

Position Details

Program: Preschool Program

Position Type: 1099 Consultant

Schedule: Approximately 16 hours per week, 2-3 days per week

Pay Rate: $70.00 per hour

Schedule Flexibility: Flexible schedule based on program needs

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide occupational therapy consultation and support within the Preschool Program.
  • Evaluate and assess children's fine motor, sensory processing, self-help, and developmental skills, as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, administrators, and families to support children's developmental goals.
  • Develop recommendations and strategies to promote participation, independence, and success in educational activities.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to individualized service planning.
  • Maintain professional documentation in accordance with applicable regulations and professional standards.
  • Ensure services are provided in compliance with New York State requirements, agency policies, and ethical standards.

Requirements

  • Current New York State Occupational Therapist license required
  • Experience working with preschool-aged children preferred
  • Knowledge of early childhood development, sensory integration, and school-based occupational therapy practices
  • Strong assessment, communication, and consultation skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
