Licensed Land Surveyor / Survey Project Manager (PLS)
Brighton Solutions is seeking an experienced Survey Project Manager for a well-established engineering and infrastructure consulting organization in Central Illinois.
This position is ideal for a licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) who enjoys managing projects from start to finish while serving as the technical lead for clients, field crews, and project teams. Responsibilities

Manage boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, construction staking, as-built, and right-of-way survey projects.

Lead survey field crews while ensuring quality, accuracy, and timely project completion.

Review field data, calculations, and final survey deliverables.

Prepare plats, legal descriptions, easement exhibits, and survey documentation in accordance with Illinois regulations.

Serve as the primary contact for clients, contractors, municipalities, attorneys, title companies, and regulatory agencies.

Process survey data using Civil 3D and Trimble Business Center (TBC).

Research deeds, plats, easements, and public land survey records to resolve boundary questions.

Assist with project planning, scheduling, proposals, budgeting, and resource allocation.

Mentor junior surveyors and field staff while supporting professional development within the team.

Collaborate closely with engineering and project management teams on multidisciplinary projects.
Qualifications
Required
- Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license, Illinois or reciprocal state license

7+ years of professional land surveying experience.

Experience leading survey projects and managing field personnel.

Working knowledge of Civil 3D and Trimble Business Center (TBC).

Experience with Trimble GPS/GNSS equipment and data collectors.

Excellent communication and client relationship skills.

Strong organizational and project management abilities.
Preferred

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Additional state licensure.

Experience with transportation, utility corridor, subdivision, and right-of-way projects.

Bentley OpenRoads Designer (ORD) or MicroStation experience.

Proposal development and project budgeting experience.
