A growing civil engineering firm is seeking a Senior Land Surveyor to oversee regional survey operations supporting transportation and municipal infrastructure projects. What You'll Do
- Manage and schedule multiple survey and SUE crews across regional offices for DOT and municipal projects.
- Ensure QA/QC standards, safety compliance, budgets, and schedules are met across all survey deliverables.
- Collaborate with state DOTs and local municipalities on roadway and utility corridor mapping.
- Support proposal development and client relationships to expand regional project opportunities.
- Mentor, coach, and train staff to strengthen technical capabilities and develop future leaders.
What We're Looking For
Required:
- PLS license in the hiring state or ability to obtain within 6 months (exam fees covered).
- 12+ years of surveying experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.
- Extensive DOT/municipal project background with familiarity in roadway and utility corridor surveys.
- Knowledge of QA/QC protocols, safety regulations, and risk management practices.
- Proficiency in MicroStation, OpenRoads, and Civil 3D (supervisory-level knowledge acceptable).
- Demonstrated career stability with long-term roles and progression.
Preferred:
- Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) expertise and utility locating experience.
- Proposal pricing/scoping experience for DOT or municipal projects.
- Exposure to LiDAR, aerial mapping, or sUAS technologies.
- Multi-state licensure or willingness to pursue additional states.
