We need a licensed NC home inspector who lives in or near Fayetteville and wants that market as their own.
Fayetteville is an FPI market with a real agent base and no resident inspector. Last year it produced over a hundred inspections with our nearest inspector two hours away. You would be the first inspector based there. You start with a list of agents who already know FPI and have used us before, and the office books the work.

How you get paid

This is commission. We say that up front because it is the first question anyone asks.
  • 25% of every inspection ticket. Our average ticket is in the $640 to $750 range, so that is roughly $160 to $190 per job.
  • Four jobs a week is about $35,000 a year. Six is about $52,000. Eight is about $70,000. Our busiest NC inspector runs about six.
  • W-2. The company carries your license, E&O and liability insurance. Uniform, inspection software and reporting tools provided. Mileage reimbursed when you are out meeting agents.
  • No health benefits and no vehicle allowance. We would rather you hear that here than in the interview.

What the office does for you

Scheduling, client intake, payment, marketing and the phones. You inspect, you write the report, you talk to the client and the agent. Reports go out the same day.

What you do

  • Residential home inspections to the NC Home Inspector Licensure Board Standards of Practice
  • Clear, accurate reports delivered the day of the inspection
  • Walk buyers and agents through findings with confidence and tact
  • Visit the agent offices on your list and keep those relationships warm. That is how your volume grows.
  • Add-on services as you are credentialed: WDI (we are NCDA&CS registered), radon, septic inspection, sewer scope, water and mold sampling, pool and spa, HUD foundation letters

Who this is for

  • Active NC Home Inspector license in good standing. This is required. If you are not licensed yet, we will keep your name, but we cannot hire you for this seat.
  • You live within about 30 minutes of Fayetteville
  • You can defend a finding to a buyer, an agent and a builder without losing your temper
  • Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, clean record
  • Ladders, crawl spaces, attics, weather
Helpful but not required: WDI, radon or septic credentials, CPI or CMI, experience with ISN or similar software, agents in Cumberland County who already know you.
