    Position Introduction:

    The OU Tulsa Schusterman Library's Reference and Instruction Librarians propose hosting a graduate intern from the OU School of Library and Information Studies during the fall 2026 semester. This internship will provide hands on experience in academic librarianship while supporting library outreach, instruction, and student engagement initiatives.

    • Assist with planning, coordinating, and hosting the library's Open House.
    • Assist with planning and presenting a student engagement event cohosted by the Library and the OU Tulsa Student Affairs department during Welcome Week.
    • Review and revise library instruction and reference materials to improve clarity, consistency, and accessibility.
    • Assist with classroom instruction sessions and library tours for students.
    • Gain practical experience in academic library outreach, instruction, event planning, and user services while working alongside experienced librarians.

    Required Education and Experience: 

    • Must be enrolled in the ML MLIS / fall term as a student at the University of Oklahoma.
      Hiring contingent upon verification of current student status.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Basic computer literacy, ability to operate the Microsoft Suite software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
    • Willing to learn new systems, software, and digital tools
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
