Position Information
Job Title Library Circulation Student Assistant - Tuesday and Thursday 4pm to 10pm Position Summary
This position is required to be available to work:
Tuesday and Thursday from 4pm to 10pm.
- Provide clerical and receptionist support for the West library.
- Provide outstanding customer service.
- Process incoming and outgoing materials.
- Provide basic computer and copier assistance.
- Shelving of books and materials.
- Inventory books and materials to maintain good order of the stacks.
- Cleaning throughout the library.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Must be detail-oriented and be able to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Must be proactive and able to engage with a diverse constituency.
- Demonstrate decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Education, Certifications and/or Licenses
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
- Some college preferred
Experience
- Computer experience
- Experience in a higher education setting preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of standard office practices and procedures, including filing
