Job Summary
The Library Student Ambassador serves as a representative and advocate for library services, programs, events, and surveys. This role includes planning and participating in outreach and tabling events to promote library resources and activities; ensuring promotional materials, flyers, and demonstration items are available during events; engaging with student groups, clubs, and organizations to increase awareness of library offerings; and facilitating student-led workshops.
The position requires approximately 10 hours per week, including two days of tabling per week (approximately 8 hours total), along with additional outreach, promotional, and administrative responsibilities as assigned.
Responsibilities
Tabling - 50
Serve as a liaison between the library and the campus community by engaging with students, organizations, and community groups to promote library services, resources, and activities.
Material Production - 20
Print and maintain an adequate supply of pre-designed flyers, business cards, and other promotional materials for distribution during tabling events.
Other Duties - 30
Visit groups, clubs, and organizations to promote library webinars, the Information Minor, and library services, as well as student-hosted workshops and related outreach activities.
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Must be currently enrolled in at least six hours as a student at Georgia College & State University.
Other Required Qualifications
Demonstrated technology proficiency, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
Required Experience
Must have knowledge and experience with a variety of software including the most recent Mac & Windows operating system and Microsoft Office Suite.
Basic knowledge of e-mail and navigation techniques on the Internet.
Knowledge of scanners and printers.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Experience
Previous customer service, public speaking, marketing, or presentation experience preferred.
Proposed Salary
The proposed salary is $10/hour.
