Role Overview:
We’relooking for aThermofluidsEngineer to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on flagship RR programs and playan important rolein addressing some of the most complex and interesting technological challenges in Defense.
TheThermofluidsSystems Engineeris responsible fordesigningand analysis of gas turbine air, oil, fuel, and thermal management systems along withcomponentand/or subsystem thermal analysis. The role supports the entire product lifecycle from concept generation and evaluation to in-service support.
Whatyou’llbedoing:
Performing detailed fluid flow analyses of gas turbine engine systems, subsystems, and components using 1-D network analysis and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).
Performing heat transfer analyses of gas turbine engine subsystems and components using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools
Applying systems engineering concepts to define whole engine fluid systems and support resolution of system-level issues. This will include working together with other engineers inThermofluids, Engine Performance, Controls, Installations, Turbines, Compressors, Combustion, and Power Transmission Systems
Providing technical support to product design and support teams.
Supporting engine development testing through analysis or on-site test by planning, monitoring, inspection of instrumented hardware (pre and post-test), data reduction, and model validation
Preparing and deliver analysis results in formal and informal design reviews, and issue technical design reports
Whowe’relooking for:
Minimum of abachelor's degree inchemicalor aerospace engineering and/or related degree
A strong passion for the future of technology
A willingness to work flexibly and travel between locations: in most cases, you’ll be able to meet the requirements in the location you are recruited to; however, we may need you to be flexible and travel between sites.
Open-minded, curious, and agile approach to work and career development
Basic understanding of gas turbine fluid system design, modeling, and analysispreferred
Familiarity with heat transfer/thermals modelling and analysispreferred
Programming skills such as Visual Basic, FORTRAN,Matlab, Python, PERL, and/or C++preferred

Minimum GPA: 3.0
