    Description

Roanoke, TX | Voice & Data Level II Technician

Big Data Needs Big Talent. Are You Ready to Connect?

Behind every powerful data center is an incredible amount of infrastructure and skilled technicians who know how to put it all together.

TradeSTAR is seeking Voice & Data Level II Technicians for an opportunity with an established national low-voltage contractor supporting data center infrastructure projects in Roanoke, TX.

If you enjoy working in highly organized technical environments, understand the importance of precision cabling, and take pride in making hundreds of connections look like a work of art, this opportunity deserves your attention.

Data centers aren't your average commercial jobsite. Every cable route, termination, label, and connection plays a role in keeping critical technology connected.

You've built the fundamentals. Now it's time to put your skills to work where every connection counts.

    Company Overview

Houston Based Integrated Network cabling, Fiber, and Audio-Visual provider with over 35 years of service in the Texas Commercial low voltage market. Our client has over 89 locations across the country and uses the most professional teams and advanced equipment whether you are moving into a brand-new building or retrofitting your existing space. Their culture is to provide employees with a safe, productive, healthy, and growth-orientated workplace.

    What You'll Be Doing

As a Voice & Data Level II Technician, you'll support the installation of structured cabling infrastructure in data center environments where organization, accuracy, and quality workmanship are essential.

    Your responsibilities may include:

    • Installing, pulling, routing, and dressing Cat6, Cat6A, and fiber-optic cabling in data center environments

    • Supporting high-density copper and fiber cabling installations

    • Installing and organizing network racks, cabinets, patch panels, and cable management systems

    • Routing cabling through overhead ladder racks, cable trays, and designated pathways

    • Performing copper terminations and assisting with fiber-optic connectivity

    • Maintaining proper cable separation, bend radius, and pathway organization

    • Labeling and documenting cable runs, ports, and connections according to project specifications

    • Assisting with copper and fiber testing, certification, and basic troubleshooting

    • Reading floor plans, rack elevations, cable schedules, and installation drawings

    • Supporting installation work in equipment rooms, network distribution areas, and high-density rack environments

    • Working alongside Lead Technicians and project teams to maintain installation quality and productivity

    • Following strict jobsite safety procedures and maintaining clean, organized work areas

    What We're Looking For

Data center projects demand attention to detail. A cable that isn't properly routed, a connection that isn't labeled, or a rack that isn't organized can create headaches down the road.

We're looking for technicians who understand that doing the job right matters just as much as getting it done.

    Ideal candidates will have:

    • 2+ years of hands-on commercial structured cabling experience

    • Previous data center cabling experience strongly preferred

    • Experience pulling, routing, dressing, and terminating Cat6 and Cat6A cabling

    • Familiarity with fiber-optic cabling, connectors, and installation practices

    • Experience working with network racks, cabinets, patch panels, and cable management systems

    • Knowledge of ladder racks, cable trays, and structured cabling pathways

    • Understanding of proper cable bend radius, cable support, and installation standards

    • Ability to follow rack elevations, floor plans, cable schedules, and installation instructions

    • Familiarity with cable testing and certification equipment preferred

    • Strong attention to detail and pride in organized, professional-quality installations

    • Ability to complete assigned tasks independently while contributing to a larger installation team

    • Dependable attendance, strong communication, and a commitment to jobsite safety
