    FLSA Status: Hourly

    **Summary

    : Performs preventative and non-scheduled maintenance on heavy duty trucks / trailers and other equipment. Performs repairs or replaces broken parts as necessary with limited supervision. Performs minor body work. May train level 1 technicians. Performs all work in accordance with established practices.

    Major Duties

    **:

    • Performs routine, preventative maintenance and vehicle inspections, in compliance with FMCSA inspection guidelines
    • Performs various non-scheduled repairs on trucks and trailers with limited supervision
    • Records all work performed on work orders and inspection forms, responsible for entering accurate information on work orders while maintaining accountability for allocation of parts to specific equipment
    • Cleans and maintains assigned work areas
    • Performs other related duties as assigned by management

    **Education, Skills and Experience:

    1. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) Vocational training preferred, Preparation for CDL a plus
    2. 1- 2 years related experience in tractor / trailer maintenance in a commercial garage or fleet leasing company, minimum 1 year
    3. A degree in Diesel Mechanics is preferred
