Commercial AV Technician Take Your Skills Beyond the Screen!

Level II Commercial Audio Visual Technician | Dallas Fort Worth, TX

You know how to mount the display. But do you know what makes the entire system work?

Behind every conference room, classroom, and commercial presentation system is a skilled AV technician making sure everything connects, communicates, and performs the way it should.

If you've already gained experience installing commercial AV systems and you're ready to sharpen your skills, tackle more technical installations, and take on greater responsibility, this could be your next opportunity.

TradeSTAR is seeking a Level II Commercial AV Technician for a long-term opportunity with an established North Texas AV integration company.

This isn't about pulling the same cable every day. It's about building your technical knowledge, working with experienced professionals, and becoming the technician others can count on.

We're talking permanent commercial AV integration not concerts, live events, entertainment, or production work.

Your Skills Bring Technology to Life

Think about the technology businesses depend on every day. Video conferencing systems that connect offices across the country. Classroom displays that make learning interactive. Integrated audio systems that keep presentations running smoothly.

Someone has to install it, connect it, test it, and make sure it works.

    That's where you come in.

As a Level II Commercial AV Technician, you'll work on installations throughout the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex, supporting projects in corporate offices, educational facilities, healthcare environments, and other commercial buildings.

You'll be part of the team responsible for turning drawings, equipment, and miles of cable into fully integrated AV systems.

Join a Team That Knows Commercial AV

Our client is an established North Texas commercial AV integrator with decades of industry experience and a history of completing commercial installations throughout DFW.

Their work involves professional audio, video, presentation, and integrated technology systems designed for commercial environments.

With an emphasis on technical knowledge, continuing education, and professional development, this opportunity offers experienced installers the chance to learn from knowledgeable technicians and expand their capabilities.

If you're looking for a company where you can continue building your career in commercial AV, this is an opportunity worth exploring.

What You'll Get Your Hands On

As a Level II Technician, you'll be expected to bring practical installation experience while continuing to develop your technical abilities.

    Your day-to-day responsibilities may include:

    • Installing, routing, dressing, labeling, and terminating commercial AV and low-voltage cabling

    • Mounting commercial displays, speakers, cameras, and other AV equipment

    • Installing cable supports, J-hooks, pathways, and related infrastructure

    • Assisting with AV equipment rack assembly, installation, and cable management

    • Reading blueprints, floor plans, and construction drawings to identify equipment locations and cable routes

    • Installing and connecting audio, video, control, and communication system components

    • Performing basic system testing and troubleshooting installation issues

    • Assisting with AV system service, maintenance, and equipment modifications

    • Supporting system layouts, installation planning, and accurate as-built documentation

    • Coordinating with Lead Technicians, Project Managers, and other trades on commercial jobsites

    • Helping less-experienced installers when additional guidance is needed

    • Maintaining a safe, organized, and professional work environment

You'll have opportunities to work with different equipment, installation methods, and system configurations while strengthening the skills that separate an installer from a well-rounded AV technician.

What Makes You a Good Fit?

We're looking for someone who has moved beyond entry-level installation and understands what it takes to get quality work completed on a commercial jobsite.

    Here's what we're looking for:

    • At least 2 years of commercial AV, communications, or related low-voltage installation experience

    • Experience installing permanently mounted commercial AV equipment

    • Hands-on experience pulling, routing, labeling, and terminating low-voltage or AV cabling

    • Familiarity with commercial construction environments and jobsite procedures

    • Ability to read and follow blueprints, installation drawings, and equipment layouts

    • Basic knowledge of AV system testing and troubleshooting

    • Ability to safely work from ladders and lifts

    • Strong attention to detail and pride in clean, professional installations

    • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks and contribute to a team

    • Dependable attendance, reliable transportation, and a positive work ethic

    • Willingness to learn new technologies and take on additional responsibilities

You don't have to know everything about commercial AV. But you should have a solid foundation, understand the importance of doing the job right, and be motivated to keep improving.

Don't Stay Stuck at the Same Skill Level

There's a big difference between knowing how to install equipment and understanding how an entire AV system comes together.

Every project is an opportunity to strengthen your skills, improve your troubleshooting abilities, and become more confident handling complex installations.

Whether your goal is to become a Level III Technician, Lead Technician, Foreman, Superintendent, or eventually move into Project Management, building your technical experience now can help prepare you for what's next.

Your experience got you into the industry. Your willingness to keep learning is what can move your career forward.
