Level II Access Control Technician Commercial Security Systems

TradeSTAR is seeking an experienced Level II Access Control Technician for a long-term opportunity with an established commercial security systems integrator in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
This opportunity is ideal for a technician with solid commercial access control experience who is ready to work more independently, take ownership of installations, and occasionally help keep a small crew moving.
What You ll Work On
You ll support commercial electronic security installations throughout DFW, working with access control systems, security devices, low-voltage cabling, and door hardware.
Your responsibilities may include:
Installing, terminating, testing, and troubleshooting commercial access control cabling
Installing mag-locks, electric strikes, panic hardware, door position switches, power transfer hinges, motion detectors, cameras, and glass-break devices
Pulling, routing, labeling, and terminating low-voltage security cabling
Reading blueprints, floor plans, and system drawings
Determining device locations and efficient cable pathways
Testing devices and troubleshooting wiring or installation problems
Completing assigned installations with limited supervision
Participating in jobsite walk-throughs
Communicating professionally with customers, project teams, and other trades
Assisting technicians and helpers when additional direction is needed
Taking responsibility for small crews of approximately 3 5 technicians when needed
Maintaining safe, organized, and productive work areas
What We re Looking For
Qualified technicians should have:
2+ years of commercial security/access control experience
Valid Texas Security License preferred
Hands-on commercial access control installation experience
Experience with mag-locks, electric strikes, panic hardware, DPS, power transfer hinges, motion detectors, and glass-break devices
Ability to read prints and determine cable routes
Strong testing and troubleshooting skills
Ability to complete assigned work with limited supervision
Experience working on active commercial construction sites
Professional communication skills
A safety-focused approach and pride in quality workmanship

At the Level II stage, you re expected to understand more than how to complete individual tasks. You re developing the ability to look at an installation, understand what needs to happen, solve problems in the field, and help others get the work completed correctly.
