Level II Access Control Technician Step Into Bigger DFW Projects

TradeSTAR is seeking an experienced Level II Access Control Technician for a long-term opportunity with an established commercial security systems integrator in the DFW area.
This role is built for a technician who can handle commercial access control installations with limited supervision, troubleshoot problems in the field, and help keep a crew moving. You ll continue developing your technical skills while gaining the experience needed to step into lead and supervisory roles.
What You ll Be Doing
You ll work on commercial electronic security projects throughout the DFW market, including:
Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot commercial access control and security systems
Install mag-locks, electric strikes, panic hardware, door position switches, power transfer hinges, motion detectors, and glass-break devices
Pull, route, label, and terminate low-voltage security cabling
Read blueprints, floor plans, and system drawings to determine device locations and cable paths
Test installed devices and troubleshoot wiring and installation issues
Participate in site walk-throughs and coordinate professionally with customers and project teams
Complete assigned work with limited supervision while maintaining quality and productivity
Help guide technicians and helpers in the field
Take the lead on small crews of approximately 3 5 technicians when needed
Keep projects moving safely, efficiently, and according to installation standards
What You Bring to the Job
We re looking for technicians with:
2+ years of commercial security and access control experience
Valid Texas Security License
Hands-on experience installing commercial access control devices and door hardware
Experience with mag-locks, strikes, panic bars, DPS, power transfer hinges, motion detectors, and glass breaks
Ability to read prints and determine efficient cable routes
Strong testing, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
Ability to complete installations with limited supervision
Experience working in active commercial construction environments
Professional communication skills with customers, coworkers, and project leadership
A safety-first approach and pride in quality workmanship
