Commercial Structured Cabling
New Month. New Opportunities. Build Your Skills This November!
November is right around the corner, and while the temperatures may be dropping, opportunities in the low-voltage industry are still heating up!
TradeSTAR is seeking a Voice & Data Level I Technician for an opportunity with an established commercial low-voltage contractor serving the Dallas Fort Worth area.
If you've gained some hands-on experience pulling cable, working on commercial jobsites, or assisting with structured cabling installations, this could be your chance to take the next step in your career.
You don't have to know everything. We're looking for someone who understands the basics, enjoys working with their hands, and is eager to develop their technical skills alongside experienced professionals.
You've gotten your foot in the door. Now it's time to build on that experience and finish the year strong!
Company Information
TradeSTAR partners with established electrical and low-voltage contractors across Texas, connecting skilled trades professionals with long-term career opportunities.
Our client has supported commercial construction projects throughout Texas for decades, providing structured cabling, fiber optic, audio-visual, and security system solutions.
Working alongside experienced technicians, you'll have the opportunity to strengthen your installation skills, gain exposure to commercial communication systems, and continue developing your career in the growing low-voltage industry.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Voice & Data Level I Technician, you'll assist with installing the communication infrastructure that keeps commercial buildings connected.
You'll work alongside experienced technicians and crew leaders while continuing to develop your knowledge of structured cabling systems and commercial installation practices.
Your responsibilities may include:
Pulling and routing Cat6 and other low-voltage cabling throughout commercial buildings
Assisting with dressing, organizing, securing, and labeling cable runs
Learning proper cable termination techniques for voice and data systems
Assisting with the installation of fiber optic cabling
Installing J-hooks, cable supports, and basic pathway systems
Helping prepare and organize telecommunications rooms, racks, and cable pathways
Assisting experienced technicians with cable testing and identifying basic installation issues
Following blueprints, floor plans, and installation instructions with guidance
Working with Lead Technicians and other crew members to complete daily assignments
Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment
What We're Looking For
You don't need years of experience to be a great technician. What matters is having a solid foundation, a willingness to learn, and the motivation to improve every day.
Ideal candidates will have:
Some hands-on experience with commercial low-voltage or structured cabling installations
Basic knowledge of pulling, routing, and organizing voice and data cabling
Familiarity with Cat6 cabling and common low-voltage installation materials
Exposure to cable terminations, J-hooks, cable pathways, or telecommunications rooms
Basic understanding of hand tools and low-voltage installation equipment
Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a crew
Willingness to learn proper installation techniques and industry standards
Strong work ethic, dependable attendance, and attention to detail
Commitment to jobsite safety and quality workmanship
Still learning terminations or fiber? That's okay! If you have some commercial cable-pulling experience and are motivated to improve, we encourage you to apply.
Start With the Basics. Build Toward Something Bigger.
Every experienced technician started somewhere.
The technicians leading crews today were once learning how to pull cable, install J-hooks, make their first terminations, and understand the layout of a telecommunications room.
What makes the difference is showing up, asking questions, learning from experienced coworkers, and taking pride in doing the job correctly.
As a Level I Technician, you'll have opportunities to:
Strengthen your commercial structured cabling experience
Improve your understanding of Cat6 installations and terminations
Gain exposure to fiber optic infrastructure and testing
Develop confidence working on active commercial construction projects
Build the skills needed to pursue Level II, Level III, and future leadership opportunities
Whether you've recently entered the low-voltage industry or have some field experience and want to keep growing, this is an opportunity to continue building your career.
New month. New projects. New skills. Your next step starts here!
Apply Today!
Don't let November pass you by! If you're ready to put your experience to work, learn from skilled technicians, and continue growing in the low-voltage industry, TradeSTAR wants to hear from you.
