Education/Certification:

  • High School diploma, GED or Associate's degree

Special Knowledge/Skills:

  • Basic knowledge of computer hardware and software applications

  • Basic knowledge of computer operating systems (Windows & Mac)

  • Ability to detect and resolve problems

  • Ability to learn to fix hardware as reported in work orders.

  • Ability to lift, unpack, set up and put into service new or repurposed hardware.

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Provides technical support for all district staff to assist and resolve problems relating to network, computer- and communications-related services. Responsible for technology problem evaluation and the resolution of technology-related work orders. Works directly in support of the Network Administrator.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with end users to resolve problems with hardware and software
  • Work cooperatively with technicians, help desk/secretary and end users to detect and resolve hardware problems
  • Communicate with technology department staff and work as a team
  • Process technology-related work orders
  • Make evaluations and recommendations on repairs
  • Receive and process work orders. Close work orders with a description of the resolution of the problem.
  • Diligently report any inventory changes to campus and technology department secretary
  • Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • One year work experience in technical support position
  • Networking experience preferred
