Job Summary
The Program on Intergroup Relations invites applications for a full-time academic year position as a Lecturer III to begin Winter Term 2027, to teach two courses each semester plus administrative duties in lieu of one course per semester. (Regular, full-time teaching load is three courses per semester). IGR courses are housed in the Applied Liberal Arts (ALA) division of the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts and are often cross-listed with Psychology and Sociology. There may be additional opportunities for spring/summer teaching or administrative duties. The lecturer will teach any IGR courses, and may propose new courses. Responsibilities*
The candidate will provide classroom instruction to undergraduate students in an interdisciplinary liberal arts program. Lecturers are expected to attend course meetings, hold office hours, and handle routine instructional matters.
Additional duties include participation in unit, college- and university-wide activities.

Union Affiliation
This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Lecturers Employee Organization, AFL-CIO, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.

Selection Process
The deadline for applications is Friday, September 4, 2026. Review of applications will begin immediately after the deadline and continue until the position is filled. The estimated timeframe for an offer to be extended is by October 31, 2026. The appointment opportunity described in this posting is subject to final approval by the academic unit.
