Job Description
The Department of Technology, Management and Budget supports the business operations of state agencies through a variety of services, including building management and maintenance, information technology, centralized contracting and procurement, budget and financial management, space planning and leasing, construction management, motor vehicle fleet operations, and oversight of the state retirement systems.
The Legislative Analyst plays a key role within the DTMB Directors Office, supporting a department of nearly 3,000 public servants who deliver essential administrative services to all state government agencies. This role provides critical support to DTMBs legislative, engagement, and transparency functions while helping advance the departments mission and priorities.
Working closely with the Legislative Director and Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Coordinator, this position analyzes legislation, coordinates legislative inquiries, researches and prepares policy analyses and correspondence, manages constituent requests, supports legislative hearings, and assists with the administration of DTMBs FOIA program. This position is responsible for constituent responses and for conducting in-depth research as needed to prepare DTMB leadership to advise on legislative strategy, or to prepare DTMB leadership to present to the legislature.
The position collaborates extensively with DTMB leadership, state agencies, the Executive Office of the Governor, legislators, and external stakeholders to advance departmental priorities while promoting responsive, transparent, and effective government.

Required Education and Experience

Possession of a bachelors degree in any major.

One year of professional experience.
Departmental Analyst P11
Two years of professional experience, including one year of experience equivalent to the intermediate (10) level in state service.

Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school and the equivalent of at least two years of full-time active-duty experience at or above the E-6 level in the uniformed services may be substituted for the education requirement.

Vacation and Sick Leave: Eligible full-time employees receive between 15 and 35 personal days and 13 sick days per year that may be rolled over to the following year if not used. Eligible employees also receive an additional day each year for community service or school functions.
Paid Parental Leave: Eligible employees can take 12 weeks of paid leave immediately after a birth or adoption to allow needed time together at home with a new child.
Paid Holidays: Eligible employees receive 13 or 14 paid holidays each year including New Year's Eve and Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents' Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, the Fourth of July, Labor Day, Election Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving Friday, Christmas Eve and Day.
