Do you enjoy working in a fast-paced Remote-Centered environment with variety in your work? The California Department of Insurance(CDI) is seeking a dynamic Legal Secretary to join the Regulatory and Legal Services Division.

Under general direction of the Deputy General Counsel or Legal Support Supervisor I, the Legal Secretary performs the full range of legal secretarial and administrative functions in support of the Legal Branch. The Legal Secretary prepares a variety of legal correspondence, legal opinions, administrative hearing briefs, memoranda, reports and stock permits. Enters data into case systems, schedules meetings, maintains documents, copies and organizes exhibits and trial notebooks, prepares public records requests and regulation submissions with the Office of Administrative Law. Arranges and places order for legal services and performs clerical duties of similar nature.

PLP 2025 requires employees to receive a reduction in pay in exchange for monthly hours of PLP 2025 leave credits. Working Conditions
• Work in a high-rise office building in an open cubicle.
• Eligible for telework in accordance with CDIs Telework policy. Teleworking employees may be required to report to their headquarters office location on designated telework days. Travel expenses are not reimbursed, however other authorized transit subsidies do exist for those who qualify.
• Constant computer and keyboard use including continuous data entry that requires sitting and staring atthe computer screen for a long period of time.
• Occasional transporting of documents in binders or boxes over 25 lbs. but no more than 50 lbs.
• Occasional pulling and pushing cart with mail over 25 but no more than 50 pounds (lbs.) to be distributed or collected on multiple floors.
• Occasional reaching above shoulder to access overhead bins in the cubicle.
• Constant use of the telephone to answer public inquiries, contacting law firms or insurers.
