Legal Secretary - Plaintiff Litigation
Location: Chicago, IL (or insert location)
Compensation: $50,000-$72,000 annually, depending on experience

About the Opportunity
Our client, a well-established plaintiff litigation law firm, is seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to join their team. This role is ideal for a highly organized professional who thrives in a fast-paced litigation environment and enjoys keeping cases moving efficiently from intake through resolution.
Responsibilities
- Manage service of process and ensure timely filing and serving of complaints
- Coordinate with attorneys and docketing staff regarding court deadlines and case milestones
- Track and manage discovery requests, responses, and documentation
- Order and organize medical records and supporting case documents
- Maintain attorney calendars using both manual and electronic calendaring systems
- Monitor court orders, deadlines, hearings, and follow-up tasks
- Support overall case workflow and maintain accurate electronic and physical files
- Prepare, revise, proofread, and format legal correspondence, pleadings, reports, and other legal documents
- Transcribe and draft documents from attorney dictation
Qualifications
- 3+ years of legal secretary experience supporting litigation attorneys
- Plaintiff litigation experience is required
- Strong understanding of litigation procedures, court filings, and service requirements
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously
- Strong written communication and proofreading abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case management software
- Experience with dictation and transcription strongly preferred
