This role drives the effectiveness and evolution of the Legal function across strategy, AI, technology, operations, and financial management.The Legal Operations Director will translate the General Counsel's vision into clear priorities, scalable systems, and measurable outcomes, acting as a force multiplier for the Legal leadership team and a key connector across Legal, Finance, Technology, and People teams. This position is ideal for those who are highly analytical, execution‑focused, and can influence at the executive level in a fast‑moving, complex environment.What You'll DoPartner with the General Counsel to define and execute Legal's strategy, priorities, and operating rhythms (OKRs, business reviews), driving alignment, accountability, and measurable outcomes.Prepare executive materials and surface key risks, opportunities, and insights to inform senior leadership and board‑level decisions.Define and implement Legal's AI strategy, including tool selection, governance, and responsible adoption to improve efficiency and insight generation.Own Legal tech (including CLM), driving roadmap, system performance, and adoption in partnership with IT.Lead budget planning, forecasting, and vendor strategy, including outside counsel management, performance, and cost optimization.Build and scale knowledge management (templates, playbooks, summaries) to improve access, consistency, and decision‑making.Redesign and standardize Legal processes; lead change management to drive adoption, efficiency, and continuous improvement.Establish metrics, dashboards, and reporting to track performance, demand, and impact, and guide resourcing and priorities.Lead cross‑functional initiatives and represent Legal in company‑wide efforts (AI, compliance, M&A), delivering high‑impact strategic projects.Applicants should be available to work a hybrid schedule, with three days each week onsite at our Los Angeles office.About You12+ years of experience in legal operations within an in‑house legal team or law firm.Proven ability to lead complex, cross‑functional initiatives from strategy through execution, with measurable impact.Experience partnering with C‑level executives; strong ability to influence decisions and operate at the executive level.Experience leading AI, automation, or data‑driven transformation initiatives within Legal or adjacent functions.Hands‑on experience with legal technology, particularly CLM systems, including implementation or optimization.Familiarity with core legal operations domains (e‑billing, matter management, knowledge management).Strong financial and analytical skills, including budgeting, forecasting, vendor management, and KPI development.High level of discretion and judgment in handling sensitive and confidential information.Highly structured and detail‑oriented, able to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast‑paced environments.Exceptional communication skills, including executive‑level presentations and materials.Background in media, entertainment, technology, or global organizations preferred.Bachelor's degree required; J.D. or advanced degree, or equivalent experience preferred.BenefitsCompetitive salary and performance bonus earning potential.Flexible time‑off policies.Health, dental, vision, STD, LTD, and life insurance; HSA and FSA programs.401(k) plan with employer match.Commuter benefit.Parent support program.Pet insurance; pet‑friendly offices.The pay range for this position is $170,000—$210,000 USD in Los Angeles, CA.
