    Company Overview

    The Company develops and manufactures large lithium-ion polymer batteries and packs for electric vehicles (EV) and energy storage applications.

    Position Overview

    • Give accurate and timely advice in a variety of legal and compliance topics
    • Specify internal governance policies and regularly monitor for compliance
    • Prepare, review, and negotiate contracts and other legal documents


    Responsibilities

    • Advise and counsel in a variety of legal and compliance topics
    • Provide legal and compliance training to everyone in the organization
    • Review company policies and practices on a regular basis to ensure that all are in compliance
    • Provide oversight, direction, and maintenance of the compliance program
    • Conduct risk assessments and general reports for compliance meetings
    • Prepare for the possibility of audits and investigations by developing strategies, maintaining records, and designing procedures
    • Prepare, review, and negotiate Company contracts and other legal documents
    • Generate accurate work products quickly as requested
    • Regular and reliable on-site attendance required
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    Requirements

    • J.D. degree required; License to practice in the State of Michigan preferred
    • 3-6 years of experience as a practicing attorney in a law firm or an in-house legal department
    • Experience with and exposure to corporate compliance, labor & employment issues, and safety & environmental issues
    • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of corporate law and procedures
    • Excellent analytical, communication, research, and writing skills
    • High degree of professional ethics and integrity
    • Effectively organize and manage independent caseloads presenting multiple simultaneous priorities
    • Effective problem-solving techniques
