    Description

    A large, international law firm is seeking an experienced Patent Prosecution Assistant to join its Atlanta office and support attorneys within its sophisticated Intellectual Property practice.

    This position is ideal for a detail-oriented legal professional with patent prosecution experience who enjoys managing deadlines, coordinating filings, and keeping a busy IP practice organized. You’ll work as part of a collaborative team supporting attorneys and other legal professionals on U.S. and international patent matters.

    What You’ll Do

    • Provide administrative and practice support to attorneys handling patent prosecution matters
    • Assist with the preparation, proofreading, and filing of patent-related documents and correspondence
    • Coordinate filings and communications with the USPTO and assist with foreign patent prosecution matters
    • Track and manage critical dates, deadlines, and docketing requirements
    • Maintain electronic files and ensure patent records and matter information are accurate and up to date
    • Prepare correspondence, reports, and other documents related to patent portfolios
    • Assist with attorney calendars, meetings, time entry, expenses, and other administrative needs
    • Communicate professionally with attorneys, clients, foreign associates, vendors, and internal teams
    • Work closely with paralegals, docketing professionals, and other IP team members to ensure deadlines and client needs are met

    What We’re Looking For

    • 2+ years of patent prosecution experience required
    • Previous experience supporting attorneys in a law firm or similar professional services environment
    • Familiarity with USPTO procedures and patent prosecution workflows
    • Experience with IP management, docketing, document management, and other legal technology
    • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities
    • Excellent proofreading skills and exceptional attention to detail
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Proactive, team-oriented approach and ability to anticipate attorney needs
    • Professionalism and discretion when handling confidential information
