SNELLING is seeking experienced legal professionals for a
Paralegal/Legal Assistant opportunity with a successful and well-respected law firm. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years’ recent experience in the legal field working as a Paralegal or Legal Assistant. This position requires a high level of motivation, flexibility, initiative, attention to detail and the ability to follow through on ongoing projects. The ideal candidate should have the ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations, with strong and professional communication skills. The candidate should be friendly, outgoing, and able to work both independently and as a team player. This position will be performed in-office at the firm's location in Tyler, TX.
This may be a a direct hire opportunity, meaning that
SNELLING will help facilitate the recruitment process and the selected candidate will be offered employment directly with the client. Alternatively, the client may opt to offer employment on a temp-to-hire basis. Compensation will be determined according to the relevant nature of the selected candidates’ education and legal experience. Duties & Responsibilities of the
Paralegal/Legal Assistant will include:
- Drafting/file pleadings for a variety of cases.
- Communicate with courts, clients, opposing counsel, and counsel for co-defendants, as needed.
- Manage and update case activity to assist attorneys with case monitoring and client reporting.
- Assist with prepping files for hearings/trials, as needed.
- Accurately record and maintain billable hours.
Skills required of the
Paralegal/Legal Assistant will include:
- 3+ years of relevant and recent work experience in the legal field.
- Litigation experience is required.
- Paralegal Certificate; Associate degree or higher is preferred, but not required.
- Advanced experience with e-filing and e-service in state courts.
- Fundamental knowledge of legal terminology, state and federal court procedures.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint and the ability to learn new programs and systems.
- Ability to multi-task, attention to detail, excellent communication, and organizational skills.
- The ability to anticipate schedules and deadlines and move projects forward.
- Exemplary planning and time management skills.
- Should be able to work under deadlines and have some flexibility in work schedule to meet unforeseen demands.
