    Description

    Talis Group’s company client is a small southern Indiana practice specializing in estate planning, real estate, elder law, and guardianships. They are hiring a client-focused and dependable Legal Assistant to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is organized, eager to learn, and enjoys helping others in a fast-paced office environment.

    Previous legal experience is welcome but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates a strong work ethic, attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing outstanding client service.

    As a member of our team, you will work closely with attorneys and staff to help keep the office running efficiently while supporting clients through a variety of legal matters.

    Highlighted Duties:

    • Answer and direct incoming telephone calls professionally.
    • Greet clients and visitors with courtesy and professionalism.
    • Schedule appointments, hearings, and meetings.
    • Prepare, format, proofread, and organize legal documents and correspondence.
    • Open and maintain client files, both electronic and paper.
    • Manage calendars and monitor important deadlines.
    • Scan, copy, file, and organize documents.
    • Assist with court filings and document preparation (training provided).
    • Communicate with clients, courts, and outside professionals.
    • Process incoming and outgoing mail.
    • Maintain confidentiality of client information.
    • Provide general administrative support to attorneys and office staff.

    Highlighted Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree is a plus.
    • Prior office or administrative experience preferred but not required.
    • Legal experience is not required—we will train the right candidate.
    • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
    • Dependable with excellent attendance and punctuality.
    • Professional appearance and demeanor.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Comfortable using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and learning new software.
    • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
    • Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a small team.
