About the Position

The Mississippi Department of Corrections, Central Mississippi Correctional Facility, is recruiting for a Legal Assistant I position located in Rankin County, Mississippi. This is a first-level vocational position responsible for providing legal and administrative support related to adjudicatory or administrative hearings. The incumbent will assist with preparing case schedules, reviewing and distributing legal documents to attorneys and hearing officers, and coordinating communication with witnesses, attorneys, and other involved parties. Duties include preparing and processing legal documents, assisting with hearing preparation, maintaining case-related records, and preparing orders or other documents for review and use by the court or hearing authority.

To be successful in this position, you will need to be highly organized, pay close attention to detail, follow MSPB AND MDOC Policies and Procedures, have good communication skills, and be able to meet deadlines.
