COMMERCIAL REAL ESTATE LEGAL ASSISTANT

A well-established Tampa Bay law firm is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to support its commercial real estate attorneys in St. Petersburg. The role covers transactional work from contract through closing, with land use and zoning support as part of the mix. It suits someone with strong technical skills who wants to keep deals moving and keep learning.

Responsibilities

• Support attorneys on commercial real estate, land use, zoning, and transactional matters
• Track key transaction dates and keep attorney calendars current
• Format, proofread, and finalize contracts, agreements, and correspondence
• Coordinate document signing, notarization, and recording with the appropriate authorities
• Assist land use attorneys with zoning applications, permitting, and municipal filings
• Communicate with clients, government agencies, and other parties to a transaction
• Open new matters, including gathering client information, running conflict checks, and preparing engagement letters
• File documents in the firm’s document management system and assist with time entry and billing

Qualifications

• 3+ years supporting real estate attorneys, with commercial real estate experience required
• Land use and zoning experience, including permit tracking and agency filings, preferred
• Familiarity with purchase and sale agreements, commercial leasing, and closing procedures
• Advanced Microsoft Office and document management skills
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple deadlines
• Clear written and verbal communication, with discretion on confidential matters
• Eagerness to learn and a service-minded approach to clients
