(QPWB), a multi-office national defense firm and the largest minority-and women-owned law firm in the United States, is seeking a Workers' Compensation Defense Legal Assistant with 5+ years of experience to support a high-volume practice. This is a full-time, in-office position offering a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package.About the RoleThe Legal Assistant will support attorneys handling workers' compensation defense matters. This is a hands-on role requiring strong knowledge of the WC defense process, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage a heavy, fast-paced desk with competing deadlines.Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesProcess, edit, format, file, and serve legal documents from dictationPrepare WCAB-compliant pleadings utilizing EAMSExecute Panel QME requests and manage the selection processMaintain professional communication with clients, opposing counsel, and other partiesManage attorney calendars, including deadlines, hearings, and follow-upsOrganize and maintain case files (physical and electronic), ensuring accuracy and accessibilityMonitor case progress and elevate issues requiring attorney involvementHandle detailed timekeeping and assist with billing entryObtain subpoenaed records and assist with document production requestsProvide general administrative and litigation support as neededQualifications5+ years of legal assistant experience supporting workers' compensation defense mattersStrong knowledge of the workers' compensation defense processExperience with EAMS e‑filing and WCAB procedures requiredProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel)Typing speed of 70+ WPMStrong organizational, communication, and time-management skillsAbility to manage a high-volume workload in a fast-paced environmentHigh School Diploma or equivalent requiredWhat We OfferQPWB offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees, including:Medical, dental, and vision insuranceEmployer-paid life insurance and short-term disability401(k) with employer matchPaid vacation, holidays, and personal time offOpportunities for professional growth within a national law firmTo ApplyFor immediate consideration, qualified candidates should submit their resumes.
