Legal Assistant — Plaintiff-Side Employment Law Setareh Law Group | Los Angeles, CA Compensation: $35.00 per hour
Setareh Law Group seeks an organized, detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support attorneys handling plaintiff-side employment litigation, including wage and hour, wrongful termination, discrimination, and PAGA matters. The ideal candidate has litigation support experience, communicates clearly, and takes ownership of assignments.
Responsibilities
Support attorneys with case management, document preparation, correspondence, and litigation assignments.
Maintain accurate calendars for hearings, filing deadlines, discovery deadlines, and attorney appearances.
Coordinate court appearance arrangements, including reservations, confirmations, and access instructions.
Assist with state and federal court filings, service of process, and proof-of-service follow-up.
Review court notices and orders, promptly notify handling attorneys, and update calendars and tasks.
Maintain organized electronic case files and accurate records in the firm’s case management system.
Communicate with clients, court personnel, vendors, and process servers as directed by attorneys.
Monitor assignments, provide status updates, and confirm completion. When multiple assistants receive an assignment, coordinate immediately to establish one primary owner and prevent duplicate work.
Escalate unclear instructions, deadline concerns, and unresolved issues promptly.
Qualifications
At least three years of legal assistant experience in a litigation practice; plaintiff-side employment law experience preferred.
Working knowledge of California state and federal court procedures, electronic filing, and litigation calendaring.
Strong organizational, proofreading, communication, and time-management skills.
Ability to manage competing priorities and handle confidential information professionally.
Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, and Adobe Acrobat.
Experience with MyCase or Clio preferred; familiarity with InfoTrack and PACER is a plus.
