    Description

    Prestigious law firm in search of a seasoned legal administrative assistant to join their Patent Practice Group, located in their Portsmouth, NH office.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Initiating new client matters
    • Managing electronic patent prosecution files
    • Compiling patent application filing documents, such as application data sheets, declarations, powers of attorney, assignments, and PCT requests
    • Supervising the signature workflow for formal documents like declarations, assignments, and powers of attorney
    • Documenting and submitting paperwork to the USPTO
    • Crafting correspondence letters for incoming USPTO and international patent office documents, as well as communication with foreign agents
    • Creating office action response templates and handling electronic filings of responses
    • Preparing information disclosure statements and securing foreign art and non-patent literature
    • Assessing incoming documents for prior art to cite in information disclosure statements
    • Corresponding with foreign agents
    • Managing attorney dockets and calendars to ensure deadlines are met and promptly informing clients of actions taken
    • Maintaining current knowledge of USPTO procedures
    • Other duties as assigned

    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Bachelor’s degree or 2-4 years of experience supporting litigation practice, or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Familiarity with U.S. and foreign patent filing and prosecution
    • Proficiency in Word, Adobe Acrobat, Excel, PowerPoint, standard patent docketing systems, and standard document management databases
    • Competence in Patent Center and ePCT
    • Meticulous attention to detail
