Job SummaryKutak Rock LLP seeks a Legal Administrative Assistant in its Scottsdale office Litigation practice. The primary responsibility of this position is to provide secretarial support to multiple attorneys and work alongside a team of other staff members within the litigation department. The ideal candidate for this position is an experienced legal support professional who enjoys working in a collegial and collaborative environment.ResponsibilitiesPrepare, assemble, coordinate and proofread documents, firm standard letters, correspondence, and memoranda to firm format standards, using internal programs for document revision, clean‑up, and comparisonUtilize the firm's document management system and email integration system for individual capacity and supported attorneysGenerate, organize, copy, scan and maintain electronic and physical client filesAccurately enter attorney time and expenses into the firm's timekeeping software; manage accounting deadlines of sameMaintain accurate docketing utilizing Compulaw to update attorney calendars by scheduling appointments for court appearances, conferences and meetings, including receiving court notifications and scheduling other docket mattersFile pleadings with the various state and federal courts, including online filing systemsArrange business itineraries by coordinating travel reservationsAssist with and maintain attorney continuing legal education records and bar association membershipsAnswer telephones and handle client matters (when appropriate) through telephone and emailScan documents and send/receive via email for attorneysAssist with other duties as assignedQualifications: Skills and AbilitiesAbility to organize large quantities of informationAbility to work well under the pressures of deadlines and prioritize assignmentsAbility to thrive on challenges of a fast‑paced environmentAbility to work both collaboratively as part of a team and independently or unsupervisedStrong attention to detailKnowledge of legal terminology and proceduresKnowledge with civil litigation practicesExcellent spelling, grammar, and proofreading skillsExcellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skillsAbility to handle documents and other information with confidentiality and discretionKnowledge of depositions (or preparing for depositions), preparing RFP, RFA, and interrogatories or pleadings preferredExcellent interpersonal skills with an aptitude to interface with attorneys, clients, staff, and firm visitorsProficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products, especially Excel and PowerPointProficiency in NetDocuments, Disco, Compulaw, and/or Kofax or ability to rapidly attain competence with new systemsQualifications: Education and ExperienceHigh School diploma (or equivalent) required; college degree given preference3+ years experience in legal secretarial field requiredLitigation and trial preparation experience preferredPosition InformationStatus: Non-ExemptSalary Range: $65,000-$85,000 per year, commensurate with education and experience.Work Arrangement: Hybrid 3:2, with Manager approvalLocation: ScottsdaleBenefitsMedical, Dental, Vision, Life, Dependent Life, Disability, and ADI insurance.
