Leave Replacement Behavioral Intervention Paraprofessional - Part Time
Part Time Not to Exceed 30 Hours/week; No Health Benefits; Sick Time

Location: Benedict A. Cucinella School
Salary: $30.00 per hour
Requirements:
- Coursework in psychology, sociology, early childhood development, education, social work, behavior sciences, human development, or related fields preferred.
- Experience working with children with special needs or children who exhibit challenging behavior and/or significant hygiene assistance of older students is preferred.
- Experience with data collection and implementation of behavior management and Applied Behavior Analysis strategies strongly preferred.
- Experience delivering Discrete Trial Instruction
- Open to learning the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis.
- Willingness to manage significant challenging behavior including verbal and/or physical aggression and property destruction, under the guidance of a BCBA.
- Knowledge of child growth and development and appropriate classroom practices.
- Good oral communication skills and ability to collaborate with other team members.
- Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.
Responsibilities:
- Provide behavioral guidance and academic support to students according to their IEP or other instructional program.
- Receive Applied Behavior Analysis-based training up to 2 hours/month.
- Record daily data on behaviors of interest, including advanced data collection such as interval and ABC data, per behavioral intervention plan or as directed by the BCBA/BCaBA.
- Receive training on use of electronic data collection systems and graphing of behavioral data.
- Implement antecedent strategies, reinforcement systems, replacement skills and consequences as defined by behavioral intervention plan.
- Address behaviors in accordance with the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis.
- Work collaboratively with other professionals to address the students ' needs.
- Maintain respect and confidentiality for all students.
- Ability to move around the district supporting students who require a behaviorally trained para.
